Veneers

Dental veneers can be used to make teeth appear whiter and change their shape. Veneers are a great option for people who desire a more beautiful smile. In some cases, veneers can also act as an alternative for a dental crown. Veneers are hand-made from porcelain in a dental laboratory.

The most common reasons to get veneers are:

⁃ Teeth with staining, white spots, and other discolorations

⁃ Crooked teeth

⁃ Misshapen or uneven teeth

⁃ Teeth that are too small (or too large)

⁃ Chipped teeth

Getting veneers are a multi-step process. Fortunately, little to no anesthesia is required. The teeth are prepared by removing a thin layer on the front of the tooth. Then, an impression is taken to send to the dental laboratory. A temporary veneer is made to ensure your comfort. On the second visit, the porcelain veneer is bonded to the tooth to provide a beautiful smile. It is important to remember that veneers are often not permanent, and will likely have to be replaced during your lifetime. To ensure your veneers last, it is important to brush and floss the tooth regularly, as well as, to visit your dentist for them to monitor the veneer for cavities and other problems.
